| #2 - Dance of the Yao People | |
| Artist: | Liu Tieshan and Mao Yüan |
| Comment: | Composed in 1950, "Dance of the Yao People" combined folk melodies and rhythms of the Yao people from the Yunan province, southwestern China. Information comes from the liner notes for "Phases of the Moon", a 1981 compact disk published by CBS Records. "Fred Milgrom (founder of MH) gave me heaps of latitude, for which I can only be grateful. I actually studied Chinese and Japanese recordings and instruments for some of these pieces, absurdly serious as that may sound." (NB) |
vleespet:
Very nice remix!
Dr. Bongo:
I really like it, shame it`s a little too short.
DJ cK (yellow76):
Great snare-like sound in it. Even played it on C16 - Great voyage back in time, this tune!
migu:
I agree with Makke. This one rocks.
eliot:
Woohaa… Now this is something different, bonus point for this (upgrade yellow to orange) 😉
skyy:
I liked this tune alot, nice sounds your using there. Thank you for this.
Dan:
Kinda just thumps along in a pleasent way, much better than the Monty mix
ahovland:
I like it😊
Makke:
Although not much happens, I must admit I'm somewhat enchanted by this one. I like the sounds used. It's a very unconventional tune. The end is a bit abrupt.
dimmignatt:
There is to little going on… Makes it sounds to repetetive
LMan:
Unusual take on WOTEF. Crisp sound. Not bad - Good plus!
LaLa:
I like how it changes the rhythm of the original completely with the syncopation. A nice twist. I find the bass instrument a bit annoying. Kudos for originality, though.
gavin:
Like it! Sounds like re-fx plugins… Right?
omoroca:
Doesn't work for me.
Waz:
Although it's a bit slow, it is better than his other mix. Some nice instruments, although it just gets a little tedious at times.
