STIL comment"Driller, which I did for Incentive Software, was another big turning point for me. They wanted something long and epic, not short and repetitive. Concept-wise, it was the perfect game for me. It was exactly the sort of thing I had been waiting to get my teeth into musically. It took four weeks to complete, including an almost two-week pause in the middle when the Great Storm of 1987 struck the UK, leaving us without electricity or heating for about ten or eleven days. I can remember walking down our road one dark evening, wondering if I would ever get to use the C64 again, and suddenly noticing all the neighbours' lights were finally on again. I went straight in, fired up the assembler and carried on composing." (MDG)

OVERALL REMIX64 VOTE:

smattbac:
I like it!
ksh:
Like it very much. It's dynamic, very consistent and well produced (I strongly disagree with the thin mixing allegation that WAZ made). I probably like this one even better than his Lightforce remix.
infamous:
Its got a really nice sound to it, I enjoyed listening to it… Not much I can really say bad about it.
Dan:
Mmmmm gritty, meesa likes
LMan:
Industrial stuff. Not bad.😊
symbols:
Quite alot of treble-sounds running alongside the track never seems to let it go free. A solid mix, some nice instruments as well.
condor:
Heh, not that agressive. Didn't like the sound selection
eliot:
Good concept, but does not really kick in.
Chris Abbott:
A good concept, some effort went into this, but the lead instrument is quite nasty and the whole thing seems too underpowered for my liking. Middle bit is nice though, and a lot of attention seems to have been paid to the rhythm.
Makke:
An OK effort, but it just doesn't do anything for me. I like the idea and the sounds, but it doesn't grab me. Then again I always found the original to be a bit on the boring side.
anaconda:
Not sure about this one…
omoroca:
There are already so many good remixes of the Driller tune. Was this one necessary at all? And why is it called aggressive mix? The sounds used in this one are relatively decent.
Tas:
It's like Tesco's own coffee… It'll do but you wish you had some Kenco.
Skitz:
Nothing special about this one and the lead instrument has too much resonance - it grates my ears!
Waz:
It just doesn't cut it for me, the opening dramatic couple of minutes of the original aren't even here just going to the faster part. And the mixing is a bit thin and doesn't sound right to my ears.
