OVERALL REMIX64 VOTE:

james_mcl:
Unlike a lot of other shouters I wasn't a fan of Ballblazer, but *this* I love. And the Beastie lyrics are a huge part of the reason why. (Though I never seem to like the BBs without dance-y SID music behind them…) Fast, punchy, dancey.
omoroca:
Pure passion! Great stuff! Not as good as o2, of course, but great effort! Added to my collection.
Shadyman:
Ace! Perfect blend of the SID, vocals and instruments.
Chappers:
Superb arrangement by Thorsten! Like a few others here, I spotted the Romeo Knight influence. A stunning mix that deserves a lot of praise.
ikonsgr:
Man, you're gomnna make me die of dancing with this one! ONE OF THE BEST DANCE REMIX EVER!
vhold:
I think I've listened to this song over a hundred times now. Why is it so awesome? Please keep it up.
maverickbna:
Same style as Romeo Knight's Ballblazer - in a good way. I like it!
aero:
You can hear the effort put into this one. Nice result as well!
trident:
A killer tune by Thorsten Klose! And thanks for giving me the permission to use it in this short video: http://www.sics.se/contiki/events/contiki-at-the-european-conference-on-wireless-sensor-networks-ewsn-2007.html
luegisdorf:
Shades always raises some aspiration in my mind and therefore I like it well, but the rap sequence could be a little bit more smothy.
lonegunman:
Whow!
chilli_uk:
Romeo started this all. I liked the original and this up beat version is great. It does drop a little as mentioned over the vocals to lead but its a stunning effort.
dragonkiss:
I find it a great remix idea!!
monty:
Thorsten Klose Remixgott 😉
infamous:
He's put alot of work into this as I remember from the forum and its paid off quite nicely, I like the synth used for the mainline, the vocals to synth sections dont seem to gel that well but it doesnt detract from what is essentially a very good remix.
Nebdar:
It has this something inside
LaLa:
Powerful, great arrangement, lots of energy with just the right touch of SIDdish sounds, and the vocals are not distracting, either. Great stuff!
brix:
Even without the beasties, this would've been a very good remix, great work.
Ultra Maximum Prime:
I'm not familiar with the SID and though I think it strays from the style of the original this is an awesome dance tune. Perhaps the Beasties dont mix in well with the tune but I like it none the less, as The Beastie Boyz kick ass! Awesome
weasel:
Very cool idea in general! BUT: somehow it doesn't work for me in further listenings as good as the first look! Might be that SHADES is definitly one of my ALL TIME FAV-SIDs _ever_ and of all time! So a mix _must_ kick me hard to stand my final judgement!
MORBID:
Genius!
dafunk:
Very good mix, but something is missing in the arrangement
Dumper:
A really good effort.
condor:
Very good one 😊
klosterkatten:
Good tune, almost great, expect as Makke says, vocal out of sync at times and dosent work all the time.
Skitz:
I like this a lot. Very inspired by Romeo's Ball Blaster remix - it just deserves as very good.
Waz:
Now this is an intriguing mix. It starts off very Galway-esque in its flow, then the beats and beasties kick in and create a whole new dimension. No over-reliance on the samples either, so it works pretty well.
mfe:
Not bad at all. But not quite awe inspiring either.
Makke:
Vocals are slightly out of sync at times, and doesn't quite integrate completely with the rest of the arrangement. Very nice try though.
Dan:
Hmmm… Slightly inspired by Mr Knight but just doesnt gel together as well as his version.
eliot:
Technically not much to complain, but the feeling of the original is completly lost and no essence of it can't imagined either.
karl_xii:
The voices destroys it all and I´ve never been fond of the original sid either so…
Satanarchist:
The awesome Shades SiD doesnt work as a dance mix, then you go jump on its head by adding the whiteboy rap… Horrifiying.
