STIL commentThis is the very first published tune on the C64 that used samples. "Q: How did you get involved with using sampled sounds? MG: I figured out how samples were played by hacking into someone else's code... OK, I admit it... It was a drum synthesizer package called Digidrums, actually, so you could still say I was the first to include samples in a piece of music. [...] Never would I claim to have invented that technique, I just got it published first. In fact, I couldn't really figure out where they got the sample data, just that they were wiggling the volume register, so I tried to make up my own drum sample sounds in realtime - which is the flatulence stuff that shipped in 'Arkanoid'. [...] After the project was in the shops I gained access to some real drum samples, and I slid those into my own custom version of the tune. The one that's in the shops is kind of a collage of farts & burps, don't you think? [...] Later I was able to acquire some proper drum samples and by 'Game Over' it got quite sophisticated." (MG)

OVERALL REMIX64 VOTE:

rotteroy:
One of my Rune Bertils favourite!!
Runesig:
Outstanding!!!
Pepino:
Fantastic. It would be a Nº! Hit, if the synth music was better. It sounds like a children CASIO keyboard.
CharlieC:
A bit to plastic fantastic, and not on your nowadays level 😊 Love the piano, though
nicodaemus:
Maybe a bit too loosely tied to the original. A bit.
Danceaway:
Nice take on a great swing 64 track… Keep them coming…
condor:
Althought not for orange in my book, I give orange because of it's originality & effort you used for remixing this.
brix:
Hey, this makes me swing! A very good Idea and very well executed, what else could I say? This is just what a good remix has to be like.
LaLa:
Great swing arrangement! The instruments could use polishing and/or more effects, because the mix sounds too dry. But kudos for everything else!
agony:
Fantastic song!
infamous:
Unexpected, clever, slightly stiff sounding and definitely cheesier than a explosion in an edam factory but really fun
Mayhem:
Not quite expecting that sort of remix, but I like it!
Amok:
Very nice one. Superb arrangement imho.
Dumper:
Well done for remixing it in such a different way.
prowler:
Not bad at all!😀
k_rostoen:
This would fit perfectly in a sircus act. Perhaps not Doink the clown, but Amadeus the juggler.
Makke:
The sound is a wee bit cheesy and cheap, but the idea, and the fact that Rune-Bertils is a propper Swedish, Astrid Lindgren inspired, dansband adds extra flavour to the curry, and bumps the over all impression up!
Skitz:
SWING!!! Very GM sounding but still like what Rune has done here.
