Only Amiga!
After more than 25 years of being a mostly c64 remix station, the time has come to expand things a little bit.
As a first step, we will now only focus on Amiga remixing. Our first Amiga-exclusive programming will be hosted by none other than iZero, starting at 8pm CET tonight (Tuesday), so make sure not to miss it!
There is still quite a lot to do to shift things over to this new Amiga-only track, as you can imagine, so please bear with us as we undertake the massive work to execute the transition from 8 to 16 bits!
More information to follow shortly!
Remixer of the Year Awards - Voting ends in two weeks!
Voting is closing soon for the Remixer of the Year Awards! Head over to https://www.remix64.com/roty.html to cast your votes!
Vote for the best of each category. The lists are unlimited, and they extend as you add entries. During the year you might stumble upon more and more candidates you think worthy for this list - you can return to this page to supplement/review your votes anytime. All entries receive equal scores, so the list order does not matter. This was different before 2015.
Entering text into the forms will drop-down a lookup list. This will help you find your desired mix or arranger promptly. Choosing your entry directly from the drop-down will also make sure that your entry is valid. Valid entries are marked 'ok', invalid entries are marked '?' and do not go into the results. Use the icons to delete an entry or to move it up and down in the list. Note that voting requires that you have JavaScript enabled.
Voting will be available until Sunday, 29th January 2023

The Last SLAY Radio Gathering!
Friday August 4th to Sunday August 6th 2017 is the first weekend of August, which means it's the SLAY Radio Gathering! It is also the last of the Gatherings - the number of people coming along is slowly going down as more and more people say "I'll go next year instead." Well, this is both next AND final year!
The usual is happening - the Unofficially Official Pre-Gathering Gathering on Friday evening, the Barbecue and Main Event on Saturday and the farewells on Sunday!
A map is available here which shows all the main locations, airports, and train / bus / tram stops that are important. The hotel pin also has a handy link to find all nearest hotels in the area!
There is also a Facebook Event for those of you who use that particular behemoth of social media - for the main evening event anyway.
We hope to see you there at the last Gathering!

So, if you have the possibility, please chip in and make this happen!
Cheerios (are not breakfast!)
/Slaygon
Hey, where are the listen-again shows?
Good question!
Here at SLAY Radio we had to upgrade some back-end stuff. Unfortunately it has broken the "download again" part of the website for now.
But fear not! All shows are recorded and sent over to SLAY Rated and you can pick them up from there! The most recent shows are simply titled "raw_" and then the date of the show, in the format YYYY-MM-DD, so you can work out what show it is by the weekday from that.
In the future we will try and fix the immediate problem; but for now, you have a consistent way of downloading the shows from another site :)
SLAY Radio Gathering 2015 - It's Official!
Yes, it's happening again this year - it's the SLAY Radio Gathering!
SATURDAY AUGUST 1 is the main day, with a barbecue on Keillers Park in the afternoon (weather permitting) and the main event at Kville Biljard in the evening starting at 19:00 in the event room at the back!

Project Sidologie - Last Day Thursday May 14!
Project Sidologie, the brainchild of Marcel Donné has done phenomenally well. So good, in fact, that there have been a number of Stretch Goals that have been passed.
We have a couple days left, May 14 being the last, and there is one last Stretch Goal to reach in this short time - where other remixers come along and add their own tunes to the library of CDs that Marcel is working on.
If you've pledged to the Kickstarter already - fantastic! If not, now's your chance to get the entire collection in your hands once it's finished - plus help get this last Stretch Goal reached!
Read all about it, what the CDs contain and what the Stretch Goals are, at www.sidologie.com!
ADSR Show, Saturday April 25!

Guess who's coming to dinner? And then staying around WELL past their welcome time? Yes, Alistair, Donné, Slaygon and Reyn, aka the ADSR Envelope, are here to bombard your ears with a deluge of sound. Some of that sound will be the sweet professional music-making of Reyn, Marcel and Slaygon. Some of it will be the monkey-antics of cowbell-bashing Boz. But it all adds up to... something... worth listening to anyway!
Come join Slaygon, Marcel and Boz as they journey over to the Church of Reyn who will play your requests live. It's the rare but in-demand ADSR Show, Saturday April 25 2015 at 20:00 USRT (18:00 UTC). Only on SLAY Radio.
Last Week of BIT Brighton Kickstarter
This week is the last week for the Back in Time Live: Brighton 2015 Kickstarter appeal, with March 8 (at 8pm UK time) being the last day!

Even if you can't make it, please try and make the effort to donate to the cause, as you will also get some goodies, including a full interview with Ben Daglish, a free CD from c64audio.com thanks to Chris Abbott, and more!

R.I.P. Misser
Hi all. On Friday, August 22, the scene lost one of its own - Mark Visser, also known as Misser.
Erwin 'Tron' Beekveld and John 'Ziphoid' Carehag has created an on-line book of condolence. Please visit and leave your comment on there:
http://beekveld.com/misser/
Erwin will print out everything and personally give it to the family, be it at the funeral which will probably be this week, or a few days after. I am sure it will be greatly appreciated and that it'll help them to understand what Misser meant to us as an international community.
SLAY Radio gathering 2014
The SLAY Radio Gathering has been a permanent fixture for a while now, and this year is no exception!
The first weekend in August sees another SLAY Radio Gathering, where our listeners and broadcasters mingle and talk about life, the C64 Scene and the Home of Commodore 64 Remixes - and we'd like to invite you!
The dates for the 2014 Gathering are as follows:
Friday August 1:
The Unofficially Official Pre-Gathering Gathering. The main day is Saturday, but it's become tradition now that non-Gothenburg people, particularly those flying in from other countries, get here the day before. Therefore, in the evening, we tend to go to Kville Biljard in the evening and catch up with life from the year before. The private room isn't booked for this night so, depending on weather, we hang around the restaurant area or out on the patio. Everyone is welcome!
Saturday August 2:
The main Gathering day. Depending on weather, we gather up at Keillers Park in the day time from around noon, with a grill and some food to cook on it. Bring your own (disposable) grills and food and whatever you want to drink! We enjoy the sun and barbecued food.
In the evening, we have the back room booked for the main Gathering evening. There's usually a Commodore 64 set up for you guys to play and all the pool tables in the room have been paid for, so you can just choose your favorite table. Try and catch Slaygon or Boz who will be happy to challenge you to a rack or two of 9-ball!
We begin around 19:00 and Kville Biljard closes at 01:00, so there's plenty of time to chat, drink, play games and, of course, the restaurant is open until "late" (depending on demand) and you can either eat a full meal in the restaurant section or grab a smaller dish to eat next to the table (no spilling please!).
More info about Kville Biljard (in Swedish, but Google Translate does a decent job):
http://www.kvillebiljard.com
Here's a Google Map with all of the important hotspots already set up so that you can see where they are in relation to each other. The map is "interactive" in that you can switch certain things on or off:

TRANSPORT
BY AIR
Ryanair have cheap flights that go into Gothenburg City Airport (formally Säve Airport) which is ironically nearer to the Gathering than the International Airport is. Busses run on a regular schedule to and from the airport (see later).
More info (in English): http://www.goteborgcityairport.se/index.php?lang=en
All other (non-Ryanair) flights come in to Landvetter (Gothenburg International) Airport. The same bus company also have a regular schedule here. Taxis are available from both airports, of course, but they tend to be on the expensive side (ranging around the 500-600 Swedish Crown area), so if you're looking to save money, try the busses or group together to save.
More info (in English): http://www.swedavia.com/landvetter/
BY TRAIN / BUS
Gothenburg Central Station services many trains from all around Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Nils Ericson Terminal, next to the train station, is the destination for many national bus trips as well.
Flygbussarna (Flight Busses) is the company that handles transport to/from the two airports. They stop at several places but either Central Station or - nearer to the Gathering, Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen - are the nest destinations.
More info (in English): http://www.flygbussarna.se/en
(The two airports you're interested in are Göteborg city Airport and Göteborg Landvetter Airport.)
Depending on where you're staying, you may need to use public transport to get to the Gathering locations. From Central Station, for instance, there are many trams/trains that can get you to Hjalmar Brantigsplatsen or a delightfully-named stop which is nearer called "VÃÂ¥gmästareplatsen" which is two minutes from Kville Biljard.
The local services are provided by Västtrafik. More info (in English): http://www.vasttrafik.se/#!/en/1/
This info page will give you more information about the travel tickets you will need to get around.
HOTELS
There are many hotels in Gothenburg, of course. Most of them are on the mainland (The Gathering is on an island called Hisingen). The best bet is to find a hotel near to the Central Station (www.hotels.com is your friend here) and you can then grab a bus, tram or taxi over to the Gathering (journies from Central Station usually take around 10 minutes). There is one hotel just over the square from Kville Biljard; however, it's quite small so rooms are limited. Book early and/or share a larger room with fellow SLAYers!
More info on Kville Hotel (in English): http://www.kvillehotel.com/english.htm
QUESTIONS?
Obviously this is a summary - if you do need more specific information please do not hesitate to contact us at staff[at-sign-you-know-what-to-do]slayradio.org!
Site is back
Ellu! Yes, we're back. Kind-of at least.
There's still a LOT to do, but we are working hard to get it all up and running, while we iron out bugs. All reports on misbehavior is welcome!
Now... Back to coding!
RKO 2013-Q4 Torrent is here.
Bit late due to personal stuff,
Here is RKO Q4 at the usual place. Go get it here. Complete 2013 will follow after feedback since I hadn't much time to check Q4 so consider this a beta.
All checked and complete download also added have fun.
Do remember to keep seeding for a while after download.
New download site needed!
In about a weeks time download.slayradio.org (where all live show downloads are hosted) will be decomissioned. It has been hosted by IcePic for a number of years now.
So, SLAY Radio will be needing a new download site.
The site needs to run PHP of some version. Traffic-wise it uses some 2-3TB per month.
If anyone out there knows of a place where this could be hosted, please let us know. Write us!
Remixer of the Year Awards 2013!
Yes, we're getting closer to the yearly event that is the Remix64.com Remixer of the Year Awards.
This year, the Awards show will be hosted by SceneSat staff and guests and will be jointly broadcast on SLAY Radio (and possibly some other stations too).
Book the date: Saturday, January 25th at 20:00 CET.
During the show, you'll get a countdown of the best remixes and remixers of the past year as well as the chance to win nice prizes (TBA) by participating. However, you do need to have been voting, so make sure to do it ASAP!:-)
If you want to join the event as an on-site guest, which will be held at SceneSat Studio 1 in Stockholm, Sweden, contact Ziphoid and he'll give you the necessary details. The guest list will contain a lot of the usual suspects and a few surprises.:-)
Ripoffs continue...
... to this date. People taking credit for things they have not done was thought to be a thing of the past.
Seems this is not the case.
Latest iteration has just emerged. Dejan Subotin (a.k.a Dafunk) released a song on Audiojungle which promptly got stolen.
The song was ripped straight off by TheROOTmusicRecords, also known as "Mirrorball Music" on iTunes, Amazon etc.
Sad electro indeed.
Datastorm 2014
Last ever Datastorm will happen on the 14th of February 2014.
If you are hard-core c64 or Amiga, book your table and join the rest of us nerd-folks!

Meanwhile I started downloading the stuff for Q3, thanks again Peter.
SLAY Radio Gathering 2013
It's back again - another SLAY Radio Gathering! Occurring on the first weekend of August, we have the main day on Saturday August 3 consisting of a barbecue at Keillers Park in the daytime and we have the private room at the back of Kville Biljard in the evening. We also have a Facebook Event.
Firewall problems.
Hi all,
As it happens, the old firewall at SLAY HQ is getting tired and from the sound of it will most likely crash any day now. The hard drive sounds like it's doing its last rounds.
There is a new firewall in place but it is not yet fully active so there might be an unexpected drop-out at some point that will last longer than I would expect.
Anyhoo, Happy Easter everyone!
May the egg be with you. :)
Remixer of the Year Awards 2012 **NOTE CHANGE OF DATE**
Please note that the RotY Awards show (see earlier news item) has been RE-SCHEDULED to Saturday February 23, 2013 and starts at the earlier time of 18:00 USRT (CET). Unfortunately illness has struck the SLAY Radio staff and we want to be in tip-top condition for you!

Remixer Of The Year 2012
Hurry up and go vote for Remixer Of The Year Awards 2012!
Only one week to go before voting closes!
Healthiness for 2013 and torrent update.
Happy 2013!!
To kick things of I updated the RKO 2012-Q4 torrent and also uploaded the RKO-2012 Complete torrent to Slacker. As read in my previous news item (http://www.slayradio.org/home.php?news_item=165) I also added the 2005-2006 Show torrents made by HiSpeed. These are for review purpose at the moment, see if slacker handles them and also see if they are wanted. Questions about the torrents, missing shows, corrupt files should be directed to HiSpeed on irc.
M
*edit*
Added the mastering Swedish torrent also. It's still avaiable for download on the main download page but saves a few clicks :)
PS. HiSPeed # is not accepted by Slacker, so removed those :)
Show and torrents
Hmm CET time I should be asleep for hours it seems but I have some news. Ruud (IImmortal) is doing his 2nd live show The RetroToGO in about 14 hours. He's the latest DJ to join SLAY Radio and opted for the hard to fill time slot on Saturday.
Show Blur: Need some extra energy to get your Saturday evening started? Let me serve you a high protein mix of RetroTunes to kickstart your mind for a great Saturday night! <-- protein and kickstart? that at least makes me curious enough to listen in.
On the torrent side of things, I'm keeping up with q4 and complete 2012. Highspeed off for most IRC 'fame' has been working hard on quarterly show torrents. Downloading a few of them and checking them to see if Slacker can handle them. Meanwhile you can check out His personal SLAY Radio Shows torrents link which is his personal tracker.
Odd home page behaviour
You might have noticed that there is some odd behavior going on around the home page lately, like the fact that there's apparently a live show going on even though there is not, and other oddites.
Fear not - These are all (at least mostly) due to implementation of new code and technologies into the pages.
Most recently, memcached was introduced, and large parts of the back-end code interacting with the database was rewritten to make use of it.
There is also a layer of caching of static content going on. We're experimenting with nginx as a reverse proxy. The main purpose for this is to deliver static content quicker, but remaining dynamic enough.
Yes, there are glitches.
Hope you can bare with us through them!
(and sorry!)
Double Dutch Friday will return
First of all I might need to start a blog on my facebook again. Which I won't do :) I had my first cuppa c[_]~ just now and tought I needed to share that the DDF will return. I had a little chat with Tron about joining the Dutchies go Dutch show. He's about to get some mayor dental surgery today so won't join us. But he is planning for the next DDF. Owh and yes Dutchies go Dutch might return tonight. Searching for a webcam :)
Little poll
Does anyone actually read the news page? Or is the browser bookmarked to the shoutbox history like mine? Anyway I just send an email to the Dutchies to maybe revive the DDD (The Dutchies - Double Dutch) show or maybe go for a MMM (Misser's mischievous mayhem)
Yeah or Nah, let us know in the comment section.

Gathering 2012 Dates Announced!
Yep, it's official!
The SLAY Radio Gathering is going to happen again in 2012 and it will be on the first week in August!
SATURDAY AUGUST 4th is the main day, with a barbecue at Keillers Park (weather permitting) in the daytime and the get-together in the function room of Kville Biljard in the evening.
FRIDAY AUGUST 3rd will, of course, be the Unofficially Official Pre-Gathering Gathering in the evening in the main room of Kville Biljard.
More information will become available soon, but in the meantime you can look at the SLAY Radio Gathering Hotspots map on Google Maps:
http://g.co/maps/4kkr5
A Facebook event has been created here.
See you there!
**EDIT**
Of COURSE we should have realized that there's something BIG happening in London around the same time - namely, the 2012 Olympics! This, unfortunately, is making airplane tickets to/from the UK rather expensive.
We understand that this may make travel for UK-based listeners difficult and we would like to apologize in advance. What we have decided for the moment, however, is that we are going to continue hosting the Gathering on the same date, to go with tradition. If the travel expenses are really too high this year, we're sorry, but rest assured that there will be another Gathering next year!
***EDIT 2***
Legal age for entrance to Kville Biljard (which counts as a pub) is 18 years, just so you know. Sorry to you younger listeners out there, but 18 is the minimum age to enjoy the full evening!
Best of Commodore 64 (C64 SID) remixes 2000 - 2011
Just in time for the Roty 2011 show here is the best of 2000-2011 torrent. Let's see if high votes also mean a place in the Roty!
Jarno Beumer did it again and collected the top 10-songs published on RKO of every year and shared this compilation as a torrent so the best C64-remixes are just a few mouseclicks away for anyone.
As 2011 ended, I send a polite request wich went something like this: Hey Jarno, you lazy git it's time to wake up and update that there best of torrrent, he promptly updated his torrent 2000-2009 and added the top 10 songs of 2010-2011 as well. Not to mention he went above and beyond duty and rechecked the previous years also. You want the very best of remixed C64-songs as vote for on RKO ? Go grab the Best of Commodore 64 (C64 SID) remixes 2000 - 2011.torrent here
As usual get your latest remixes on RKO and remember to keep seeding for a while after download.
Now something different LPChip requested a full rko torrent. Which is a bit to keep updated so I'm thinking of making a RKO First Decade and Second Decade torrent. First Decade is just the complete 2000 (since it has everything before that) Second decade will be 2001-2010. Thoughts, want it? leave a comment.
Misser
*edit
Ps. I place all my torrents in a sub dir called: "RKO C64" and then named after the torrent etc. This keeps it easy to make yearly torrents from quaterly etc. And also would make it easy to make a Second Decade torrent since that would be "RKO C64\RKO-20XX Complete dirs"
Meanwhile I cleaned up the tracker a bit with input form LPCHip. Hide the quarterly torrents. They will be serviced untill absolete.
*edit 2
Thee-hi seems 2001-2010 is just to big to handle for Slacker. So no decade torrents in a while.

Best wishes, love, smiles and healthyness for you and loved ones from all of us @SLAYRadio.
Downtime.
SLAY HQ is getting a remote energy reader installed, which means the main power line needs to get "tapped".
This in turn means there will be a few hours of downtime of the stream somewhere between 9.30 and 12.00 USRT.
Sorry for the inconvenience! We'll be back as soon as humanly possible!
Stream down
Ellu,
The streak of bad luck hits again - The stream is now down.
Will look into it in a couple of hours.

Gathering info for Saturday, today that is, if you must know
Good MorningDay fellow Gathererers!
As the ground most likely is quite damp from yesterday's raining, we will be collecting our collective selves over at Kville Biljard a little bit earlier than expected, and we will also be skipping the BBQ part this year due to this.
So, see you all at 3 over at Kville Biljard, where they kindly have agreed to open their doors 2 hours early, just for us!
[UPDATE: Resolved!] SLAY Radio DOWN Due to Relocation
* UPDATE: We are now streaming again, yay! Thanks for your patience, folks! [NOTE: Only 128kbps stream operational] *
Ello everyone,
We must apologise for the lack of news about this - it was mentioned briefly on the BBB towards the end of the show, but we forgot to post a news item as well!
You may have noticed that SLAY Radio has been down since Friday. This is because Slaygon has just moved house! (Congratulations to him, by the way.)
The bad news is that it means that the SLAY Radio Server was moved too - so the server has to be moved into place and the new internet connection has to be switched on by the provider.
Of course we are trying to get the stream back up ASAP, but because it involves some third-party participation, we can't give you a definite date or time just yet.
We'll let you know as soon as we have more info!
SLAY Radio Gathering 2011 is a GO!
Yep, it's happening again!
Saturday August 6 2011 marks another SLAY Radio Gathering. This is held in the home town of SLAY Radio - Gothenburg in Sweden. Weather permitting, it will consist of a barbecue on Keillers Park in the day time and then our privately booked room at Kville Biljard in the evening. And, as usual, there will be the Unofficially Official Pre-Gathering Gathering that has also become a custom on Friday night (August 5).
More info will be posted soon, but start thinking about booking those hotel rooms because they go quickly!
Ryanair flights take you to Gothenburg City Airport (Säve), all others to Landvetter Airport; both have bus services that take you into town. There are also bus and train services of course.
Here's the full info: http://www.slayradio.org/gathering.php :)
Hope to see you there!
There's also a Facebook event. Find it here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=131203540290298

*searching* for someone to take over the candle.
This quarter / year is the last time I'm collecting the tunes and make them available. I will help seeding but after 5 years and before collecting the other 5 years itâs time for someone else to take over.
Happy halloween
SLAY Radio downtime
You may have noticed it's very quiet on the SLAY Radio stream currently.
This is due to failing hardware at HQ. Two of the drives in the server decided to die at the same time, rendering the RAID5 useless. On this RAID, I had the MySQL tables, as well as the Mp3 archive.
Working on recovering from this crash, and expecting to get something up and running by tomorrow, if not earlier.
In the mean time, we do have a lovely archive of past shows you can enjoy.
Also, don't miss out on the roots, and "sister station", of SLAY Radio: The C64.COM SID Stream - Pure SID delight, recorded straight from real c64's!
UPDATE (2010-10-30): SQL database as well as Mp3 archive has been recovered from broken drives. We just might get up and running in a bit or 8 again.
One Man & His Mic PVCF Special
On October 14th 2010 you will be able to hear a brand new episode of the retro game music podcast 'One Man & His Mic' - hosted by the retro fiend
known as Kenz! For this show Kenz has teamed up with demoscene musician hero PVCF / Reflex and together they have produced an 80 minute PVCF special!
The show will feature classic PVCF C64 tunes (recorded from his very own SID chip), a stunning brand new remix of the scene mega-hit "My
Number is C64" and a brand new song from PVCF featuring C64 sounds called "I Am Back!"
As well as all these audio treats the show will also feature an exclusive interview with PVCF himself! So join Kenz & PVCF on October 14th 2010 at 8pm CET for the One Man & His Mic PVCF Special - and this is your chance to hear the show before it is officially released on the One Man & His Mic webpage!
Hush hush, just in from the forbidden forest. That there DD dutchies people might be back.
It seems some Dutchies are planning to take over the airwaves once again. Nothing is sollid and Skitz might finish his show (seems some DD people have a misplaced respect for Mr. Paul H.) Things are beeing worked out, for the moment 16-10-2010 @ ust 22:00 seems to be the sweet spot :P

It was X-2010 and some drunken guys prompting the return of the mayhem and half the sanity that the DD seemed to be. We might have been clouded due to the intake of some free beer and some nice live performances. At least we have some time to do some shopping in between the shows!. SLAY Radio Gathering 2010
Elluuuu! You may have heard rumors about this thing called the SLAY Radio Gathering - They are true! It will happen again, as usual.
We have taken the liberty to interpret the last weekend of July as the first weekend of August, because, technically, it actually is!
So, book your calendars and vacations to cover July 30 to August 1st, because that will be when we once again meet up and have a chin-wag!
And as usual, the Friday is dedicated to the pre-gathering pissup, while the Saturday is the main day. We try to be flexible weather-wise, so if it's sunny, we'll do the regular BBQ (or perhaps a BBB - Boz's Big BBQ?), otherwise we'll come up with something else.
In any case, I would like to ask you all to log in to these pages and vote on the Gathering poll. Just so we have a rough idea of how many people we are looking at.
(if you're logged in already, try this)
KTHX :)
See you in August! Err... July! Well, both!
RKO-2010 Q1 Torrent
Hi all,
Spring finally arrived and the sun is slowly showing it's rays over Europe. Even though this easter weekend it's pooring rain I hope the Q1 collection of RKO 2010 helps pass the time a bit.

Free TCP packets, only today!
As you may be familiar with, SLAY Radio has been shuffling those packets in your general direction for yonks, and for free, but this will have an end shortly.
Today will be the last day to apply for a lifetime supply of free SLAY Radio TCP packets!
In the near future, we are forced to go under-ground. You saw the first signs of this last year around this time when the site went all dark (luckily that didn't last too long, and also gave the emo type people among you the opportunity to actually use the dark theme (as I do) if you wanted to!). Anyway, I digress...
Exactly what these changes entail is not yet entirely clear - Legal business is not second nature to me. What is clear, however, is that we have a limited number of listener slots to give away.
This prompts us to make this post, because it is here, on these pages, that you have your accounts and also where we can be absolutely sure the order in which replies are being made comes in. We chose this over email, since, unfortunately, we have absolutely zero tracking on the order they come in through there.
Was that unclear? Ok. I'll make it easier:
* Post reply to this saying you claim a listener slot
* Await further instructions
Easy, eh?
Testicles. That is all.
EDIT: Of course it was a April fools thing! Although, those of you who claimed a slot will receive something in their mailboxes! I think... yes... they will be Free TCP packets! :)
Remix64.com back online!
As many of you have noticed, remix64.com has been down a couple of days. It has now come back online after LMan has revamped the backend and added a few new features.

mind.in.a.box - R.E.T.R.O
As some of you have noticed, mind.in.a.box is about to release a new album, which is called R.E.T.R.O and will be available on the 26th of February in Europe.
SLAY Radio will be adding one new song daily from the album to the rotational until we have arrived at the 26th.
Keep your eyes and ears on the rotational!

SLAY Radio on Nokia N97
Hello tech freaks!
Thought you might be interested in playing SLAY Radio on your Nokia N97. If so, head over to Jamie Fuller's blog and pick his neat app up!
In the words of Jamie:
"Its still a very early version, it has little or no error checking, and you use at your own risk but... If you want to use it you can.
Please note this was written in Python and so requires the latest runtimes, tested successfully on 1.9.7."
Happy SLAYing!

IMPORTANT REMINDER about the Gathering this weekend
The Gathering is this weekend (Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August), so if you need details on how to get there and so forth, remember to login to this site - the first page to appear when you've done that will show you the details!
Here's a quick reminder of the itinerary: Friday is the "Unofficially Official Pre-Gathering Gathering" (i.e. an excuse to catch up, gossip and drink) and starts in the evening at Kville Biljard.
Saturday evening is also at Kville Biljard, but in the private room at the back of the building. This starts at around 20:00 local time.
On Saturday daytime, the tradition has been to go to Keillers Park and eat some barbecued food. People typically take an "engångsgrill" (single-use barbecue) up there around midday-ish and hang out with the crowd. We've been lucky with the weather before, and the forecast so far says it should be sunny and warm with scattered clouds. If it decides to be typical Gothenburg weather, however, then you can either find a pizzeria or restaurant until the evening (or, Kville Biljard itself has an excellent menu).
KVILLE BILJARD website: www.kvillebiljard.com (in Swedish); Google Map for this is http://tinyurl.com/kvfskr.
KEILLERS PARK location on Google Maps: http://tinyurl.com/lcmht8
If you have more questions, the best thing to do is head for Kville Biljard; that's the main meeting point!
Thanks and hope to see you soon!
T-shirt creative design contest
Read in the comments: How about creating your own slayradio t-shirt at home and show it to everybody on the gathering's fashionshow :)
The winner's shirt might be adopted in the slayradio shop.
Fourth Immortal CD - and you're invited!
Ello!
Got some exciting news regarding a fourth "Immortal" CD in the making, full of Amiga remixes. It seems that one track could be arranged by YOU! I'll let Jan explain it himself:
Jan Zottmann, executive producer of the acclaimed "Immortal" series (http://www.amiga-immortal.com) of CDs featuring arranged music from games released for the Commodore Amiga, and composer Jolyon Myers are looking for a talented arranger to work on a CD version of the music from the Amiga version of "Final Fight". The game was more or less a direct conversion of Capcom's arcade classic, but it featured an entirely different score written by Myers. You can download this music from http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Final_Fight or listen to it on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQsVhlI3eH0).
Jan says: âThis is your chance to become a member of the âImmortalâ team and publish your arrangement of âFinal Fightâ on an album that features musicians such as Chris Huelsbeck, Andrew Barnabas, Allister Brimble, and many othersâ. Participating artists are free to choose the style of the arrangement on their own, the final track should have a running time of at least 4 minutes though. Demos should be submitted in mp3 format to jzottmann [AT] synsoniq.com no later than August 31. Jolyon Myers will personally select the best entry (and eventually give some input for the production of the final version which has to be submitted late September / early October 2009). Runner-ups will receive a credit in the CD booklet as well as a free copy of the âImmortal 4â album. There will also be an opportunity to present these arrangements on the AmigaRemix platform (http://www.amigaremix.com).
Jolyon says: âIt's an honor that the Final Fight theme has been chosen for placement on the latest âImmortalâ CD as Jan has always brought together really talented musicians to re-create fantastic blasts from the past in a new and innovative way. I canât wait to hear what you guys do with this track and hopefully it will be you that gets your remix on the disc!â
So, if you're interested, get your favorite music composer out and go for it!
Regarding the matter of Paralax
First of all - Very sorry for this lengthy post, but we feel it is necessary. It will be posted as a news item and as a forum post on remix64.com.
Regarding the matter of Manuel Sehrbrock, a.k.a. Paralax, a.k.a owner of radio-paralax.de.
Spamming. Death threats. Generally hostile behaviour. For a number of years now Paralax has been pestering the scene, not only by being a general pain in the arse, but much worse - there are documented cases of him threatening peopleâs lives, calling them at their homes, sending threatening emails, handing out threats on IRC; You name it, he has done it.
For a long time we only considered this character an annoyance, but he has proven, time after time, that he is so much more than that. We have given him every chance possible to be a decent person - even helping him get his radio station online and promoting him.
This, however, was not enough for Paralax. He not only thinks that we are the "big evil" and out to get him, but that we are hindering him from growth. Nothing could be farther from the truth - we have done everything in our power to help this chap with his endevour, but nothing short of shutting our own sites down seem to be good enough for him.
Here are a few recent examples of the kind of communication skills Paralax has displayed. First a little tidbit that a number of scene people woke up to one morning on IRC:
"I wish you dearly that you will die a long and painfully death visited by the cholera or something like that. I will give a PARTY then and WE ALL will celebrate it!"
Isn't that cute? The sending IP address resolved to Paralax' home town.
But wait. There's more! Facebook invitations en masse and emails are not uncommon. Nor are mass subscriptions to our services with fake accounts, posing as known sceners, used for various methods of spamming on said services.
Here's just the latest batch, made recently on the SLAY Radio shoutbox:
2009-06-23 05:39.10 - the_sie_: Finally!!! Radio Paralax 4 ever! :)
2009-06-23 05:27.35 - subzero_: Indeed! Let's rock!!! :)
2009-06-23 05:25.25 - makke_: Good idea! I will tune in Paralax as well! :)
2009-06-23 05:22.55 - ffloaf: Well, there's the Chillout-Zone with DJ Micha on wednesday.
2009-06-23 05:17.18 - boz_: There are some more shows announced?
2009-06-23 05:14.55 - cpt_chaos_: Yeah! Let's rock on www.radio-paralax.de tonight. :D
2009-06-23 05:13.01 - dumper_: Sounds good! I will tune in today at 21:15 CET
2009-06-23 05:10.33 - fnordpojk_: Seems to be the Free Jump with DJ Apprentice.
2009-06-23 05:07.18 - slaygon1971: Wohoo! Let's see what our new partner radio-paralax has announce
The above shows 9 different fake accounts he was using on that day alone. To show a bit of statistics, out of 63,922 shouts to date, only 362 have had to be deleted - ALL of them made by Paralax.
The exact amount of his faked accounts, that weâve had to delete over the years, we donât really know, but a fair guess would be that the numbers are in the same region as deleted shoutbox posts.
We have tried ignoring him. That didn't work. We have tried communicating with him "behind the scenes". That didn't work. The option we are left with is full exposure. So here you are, Paralax. Youâve finally managed to tip everyone over the edge.
For historical reasons, weâve unhidden the news post from back in July 2006 asking the community to ignore this guy (see "Selected further reading" below for reference). We actually removed that post on request from Paralax himself after having a long discussion with him regarding his behaviour. We see no reason to keep it removed any more.
Also, weâd like to encourage everyone to post their experience with this person as a reply to this post.
Thank you for your attention.
- The SLAY Radio Staff.

10th Anniversary SLAY Radio Gathering.
As you may be aware now, every year we hold the SLAY Radio Gathering on the first weekend of August. This year is no exception! However, it is going to be a rather special occasion, because this year SLAY Radio will have been running for ten whole years!
Because of this, we want to make this year's Gathering something special - and this is where you can help! We would like your suggestions - however big, small, sensible or downright silly - to make this an unforgettable event. Post any idea that comes to mind here. Please feel free to fill it with anything that comes to mind and we will collectively stroke our beards on how to fit it into the event.
Remember, any and all suggestions will be considered, so get typing!
UPDATE: DATE HAS CHANGED!!!
It would appear as if there's this small band, that you may have heard of, called U2 that have a gig in town the same date as the SLAY Radio Gathering was supposed to happen. This would normally be no problem, since we know U2 are major fans of the Commodore 64 and SLAY Radio, but apparently they had to drag the entire northen hemisphere with them to town. This, of course, means that not only are all hotels fully booked already, but you may even have a hard time finding a spot to put down that cardboard box for a good nights sleep!
And this, ladies and gents, means that we were forced to switch the date to the weekend after the intended one. If anyone already booked a flight, train or other type of transportation, please drop us an email at gathering at slayradio.org and we'll try to sort you out the best we can!
So. AUGUST 8. This is the date of the main event.

*edit* want to help seed and you have q1-3 already. Just download the RKO 2008 Complete torrent and point the save spot to the root dir where you saved RKO-2008 Q1/Q2 and Q3. Mind you this will only work if you saved the previous torrents into the same directory.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you all!

Report: Network status
Hiya!
You may have noticed some major issues with the stream the past week or two. This is due to SLAY Radio running off of the backup connection since the primary connection has been down.
According to the primary ISP, this is the story - The gear in the station I am connected to has some messed up software on it that led to some odd behaviour. The first glitch was noticed two weeks ago when there was an unexpected service outage on the provider's end. After they restarted their gear, it still wouldn't work, so I had to leave work early to physically restart the modem. The restart helped, and everything was working nice and smooth.
But only for a while... Exactly one week (almost to the hour) the network suddenly died again. I hopped on the tram to get home to restart the modem. Got home, switched the modem off, waited, switched it on and... nothing. Um. Repeat above steps... Nothing... Called the ISP who said "oi! don't restart your modem, it will break!" ... Eh... So... GAH! WTF you ask me to do that for then?!
So, we are now stuck with the backup connection.
Lucky we got that, eh? So, why is the connection so shaky? I call my backup ISP up and explain the situation. They ask me to reboot windows.
Say what now?! I explain to them that the problem is -not- at my house, but further out in the network, in their gear. Dude on the other end says "Wow! How do you know that?" ... Ehm... "Heard of traceroute? Ping?" ... "Wut?". Oh, and they don't support linux. They don't support BSD. They support Windows. And Mac. I guess they don't support OSX since it's built on Darwin, which in turn is a BSD type system.
*sigh*
So, the situation is this;
Primary ISP at least know the problem is on their end and are trying to resolve it by making some changes to the station I'm hooked up to.
Secondary ISP plays pocket ping-pong while I try to solve -their- problem.
From the latest talk I had with the primary ISP, the word is that it should be sorted by Friday the latest. I REALLY hope it will be.
Shake it baby!
/Slaygon
EDIT: Are you surprised? Friday has passed. It is now early Tuesday CEST time, and the situation remains. Latest word is Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed, hold your thumbs or whatever you normally do to wish good on something!
Glitches
G'day all,
Seems there are some fishy things going on at SlayHQ. That means the home network is kinda down and won't be fixed untill after work hours. Just look at this message if it's gone the stream should be back on. We know it's twice in a short while but maybe a little unexpected show sometime this week might brighten things up. Just keep a eye out to the RSS feed or your email.
In the meantime it should be a good time to have a look/listen at the latest release on http://remix.kwed.org/
SLAY HQ down.
Hiya.
The SLAY HQ network went down at 10 to 2 CEST. It will be back at about 16:30 again. The Secret Service shall be postponed until the network is back up.
I have been bitching majorly at my ISP for this. It seems that when they have an unplanned outage, the bloody modem needs to be rebooted manually! GAH! Bloody hell!
Easy to do that from work!
Anyhoo, I shall quit work earlier to get home to sort this very soon!
Edit: Aaaand, we're back!
Internet connection upgrade at SLAY HQ on Thursday
Hiya!
SLAY HQ is upgrading the primary internet connection some time during Thursday the 28th. This means we will be using the backup connection from Thursday morning until the new primary is up and running. Hopefully this won't affect Reyn's broadcast on Thursday too much (which it shouldn't).
And no, the time for the upgrade is not decided by me. It is all up to the ISP.
Anyhoo, just thought you wanted to know. =)
Reyn's GrandMix 2008 [1st of three]
Hello listeners and remixers!
In Holland there was this guy in the '80's and '90's called Ben Liebrand, who mixed all the hit songs from that year into a one hour long track. I loved those remixes, and I thought it would be nice to take new tracks from RKO and put them in one big long remix.
I took tracks from the first 4 months of the year and there are now 32 different tracks pressed into this first GrandMix which is 40 minutes long. If I would do all three Grandmixes this year every 4 months (to make the full year) in the end combining them would mean a 2 hour GrandMix 2008! Could be a fun beginning of next year!
I'm gonna broadcast the first remix next Thursday 28th of August at 20:00! Be on time!
And keep on remixing! I need the material! Let's make this a great Remix64 year!!
Cheers,
Reyn.
Radio Stream Down
Just to keep you guys in the know that the Slay HQ network is down at the moment. Consequently, all radio relays are down too. Rumours are flying that Boz has tripped over the wire while running to the fridge to get a beer, but these have been unfounded and Boz swears he's nowhere near SlayHQ right now.
A bunch of Little Computer People are rushing back to SlayHQ to plug the funny-looking cable thingy into the odd-shaped hole (technical terms) as soon as possible - 17:30 CEST is the latest estimated time.
Gathering Weather Alert

We've been keeping a close eye on the weather here at SlayHQ and, although we're having damned good weather at the moment, Fate shows us her crappy hand and it looks like we're faced with showers on Saturday daytime, when we're supposed to be out on Keillers Park, setting fires underneath chunks of dead meat. Proof that Earth is being run on Vista.
If we're given a stroke of luck -- which has happened on the past couple of Gatherings -- the weathermen have got it wrong and it will be a fine day with the grass all dried up, in which case we can continue with the plan. If, however, it's raining or considered too damp, then it's going to be Plan B.
Unfortunately there is no official Plan B because we at SLAY Radio refuse to believe that it can rain on a Gathering. One suggestion, however, is just to turn up at Kville Biljard early and select a dish from their menu. They've changed chefs - and the menu - recently, and the food is what can only be described as "scrummy". I believe the Swedes would say "Mums fille babba!"
If you want to keep your eye on the weather, you can use this link to have a look, provided by The Weather Channel.
Good luck everybody!
SLAY Radio Gathering drawing near!

Yes! It is soon time for the SLAY Radio Gathering! Today, I was scouting the VIP area of Kville Biljard out. Sorting some sort of internet connection could be done, so it is not entirely impossible there will be some sort of broadcast from there!
Oh, and the pool tables in the VIP area will be free to use for everyone the entire evening!
I challenge you to a game. Yes, YOU!
See you folks soon!
Boz Adds: Västtrafik, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to perform repairs on the tramline over the bridge that the trams go over. This means that you won't be able to take the tram from Nordstan / Central Station to Kville. Instead, you can take busses 17, 21 and 25. They are also run by Västtrafik and cost the same price. More info on the Gathering page.
RKO 2008 Q2 Torrent
Hiya,
It's been a while and I almost forgot to add the torrent, not to mention to make it know last time. So here is me improving on two things with one 'download' and an announcement it is the Q2 RKO torrent of 2008.
As usual get your latest remixes on RKO and go get the Q-2 2008 torrent here and remember to keep seeding after download.
Seems almost being one month early Q1 I got confused :)
Networking problems
Hiya!
We seem to have a gli-gli-glitch in the system. The network at SLAY HQ went down earlier. I have just arrived at home so I can plug in the spare 10mbit connection to get things rolling again.
We have partial connection up and running now... Reporting back again soon.
Cheers!
Update: We seem to have all functionality back now. Everything running on the spare connection until the situation with the ISP is resolved.
Slightly changed design.
Heya.
If you log in, you will notice a few design changes. If you have any sort of input (praise or otherwise), or bug reports regarding that, don't hesitate to get in contact with us!
Cheers!
SLAY Radio Gathering Here Again! (2nd August 2008)
This August sees us put on the fourth SLAY Radio Gathering! The previous three have been very successful, so we're going to hold it around the same date - the first weekend in August.
Friday 1st August will be the unofficial "pre-Gathering Gathering" where you can meet up for a few drinks and a chat at Kville Biljard in the evening. The main date is Saturday 2nd August, where we have a barbecue up on Keillers Park in the daytime, and then on to the private function room in Kville Biljard for the evening party.
More information can be found on this page, which includes directions, travel info and accomodation ideas. We also ask that you answer the poll at the top of that page, once you have a good idea of what you're doing, so we can have a rough estimate of numbers.
Hope to see you there!

C64 game tunes nominated by Jeroen Tel are:
1. Cybernoid 1
2. Poseidon: Planet Eleven (Title tune)
3. Rubicon (Title tune)
C64 game tunes nominated by Rob Hubbard are:
1. Spellbound
2. Nemesis the warlock
3. Rasputin
4. Kentilla
5. Dragons Lair

So help us by mailing your most favourite selection and please limit your choice to 3! We also want to know which C64 game tune of other composers we definitely have to play in the future. Feel free to forward this question to your friends and anyone who will have an opinion on this quest for the best C64 game music.
Send an email to C64orchestra@ONinternet.nl
So get voting and send an email to the above address even if you're not able to attend the show.
REYN vs COPARCK - Paradiso YouTube videos
For the people that missed the show last thursday, I put some videos online of the set I played in Paradiso Amsterdam!
For the after-show of Coparck's last concert of their â3rd ALBUM-TOUR (an album produced by yours truly), I played a special set with 10 'live remixes' made of Coparck songs... Should be making more sense if you knew the original Coparck tracks, but hopefully you guys and grrrls can still enjoy this!!

RKO 2007 Q4 update and Complete year.
Hiya,
X-Mas has come and went so in preparation for the 2007-Q4 and 2007 Complete RKO Torrents which will be hitting this place somewhere around early Jan 2008 I did some long over due work and updated it with the RKO 2006 Complete upload year. This is just a combination of the previous torrents (RKO upload Year 2006 till 25-10-2006 and RKO 2006 Q4 Update) so if you have them and want to seed, just copy those 2 dirs into a new dir called RKO-2006 Complete and point the new torrent to it.
As usual get your latests remixes on RKO and go get the 2006 torrent here and remember to keep seeding after download.
Stay tuned for more in about a week.
Update 01-01-2008 about 03:29 CET
First off all let me wish everyone an happy new year filled with love and most off all good health.
I just came home from a nice night and wasn't to tired so I uploaded the RKO 2007 Q4 and RKO 20007 Complete year torrents. As usual get your latests remixes on RKO and go get the torrents here and remember to keep seeding after download. *faster than expected eh L_P* ? :)
Merry Christmas!
Just a quick message to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
Hope you all have a nice and quiet one!
Article on CNN about the C64
Don't miss this new article on CNN about the C64: http://edition.cnn.com/2007/TECH/ptech/12/07/c64/index.html, featuring interviews with author Brian Bagnall, Theo from Press Play on Tape, and... me. Our mission continues...
C64 orchestra- RUN 10 about to be released!
I just checked my email and found a little surprise in there. Needless to say I ordered my copy before posting this. I can't take the risk of losing such a special package :)
Dear c64 lovers!
The quest is almost done, today we are assembling the final parts of the cd RUN 10. The launch date is the 12th of November so we are almost there!
25 years after Commodore introduced the C64 computer, productiehuis ON asked Rob Hubbard to make orchestral arrangements of the music written by him and Jeroen Tel for some of the most popular C64 games. Check out this piece of art that the music of "C64 orchestra - Run 10" in combination with this unique packaging and a second disc with the original tunes and special features represents!
For more information or to order it now direct using pay pall Look Here
*Edit*
I just had contact with the producer off RUN 10, SLAYRadio has confirmation to play them during live shows and put the tunes on the rotational . So expect them shortly. But do remember to visit the site and buy the album if you like it (the package is worth it imho). An Itunes download is planned and depending on the sales off the Special Edition album a cheaper 'jewel case' version is also an option.
Happy halloween!

Web server downtime
On Monday, 12th of November 2007, the web server will go down.
A drive has failed in the RAID, and needs replacing. The downtime will occur some time after 16:40 USRT.
Thanks to jgb for kindly donating the new 160GB SATA drive and fnordpojk for installation help!
Note: The stream will not be affected by this.
Edit: Disk replaced, RAID is resyncing, everything is fine.
Edit: Sync done.
Song and live show discussions
Hola amigos & amigas!
I have added yet another feature to the pages: Song discussions.
Head over to this page to see the thing in action, and if you're logged in, be part of it too!
Or just use the "Discuss" links on the NOW PLAYING bit to the left here, or in the Request Song, Song History and Queue area. Which ever floats your boat!
And of course there's an RSS feed:
Song discussions
Oh, almost forgot... There is a Discuss history page too, which shows the 50 latest entries.
I encourage all remixers to enter some information about their remixes to the discussion boards!
The more information, the funnier!
Edit: Now you can discuss live shows too!
Cheers!
SID, Remix64, RKO and C64.COM info
Want to know more about the remix that is currently playing?
No problem! I have now added SID, Remix64 and RKO info where available to each song that plays on the rotational.
As usual, report any bugs to me. Thank you, and enjoy! :)
Update 2007-11-13: I have now added links to C64.COM if there are games or demos using the particular SID. Thanks to Andreas, Ville and Andry for the work on the C64.COM end to make this happen!
New stream server
Ellu!
You hopefully didn't notice when the stream went down two days ago for an upgrade. The old dual P3-800 was shut down, and the new Dell Poweredge 1800 was brought in. All features that were in the old one are in this new one aswell, but there are some slight changes, such as upgrading the streaming software to run SAM v4 instead of v3.
If you notice anything weird in the setup, with requests or sound quality in particular, don't hesitate to tell me!
Cheerio!
Eurotrip
Yes,
Slaygon is on that Eurotrip thing again. If you want to follow his progress, head over to The Diary Page.

SLAY Radio Gathering 2007
Oh, yes!
We are back with yet another Gathering! Same concept as last time - Get together, chat, throw some dead animal on the bbq (or chopped veggies - which ever you prefer), drink some beer, talk some more, have some more beer, talking... You get the picture, eh?
Get all the details right here.
See you there!
Or here. Err... Right...
Boz Needs Your Help!
Boz -- some bloke who utters random nonsense for SLAY Radio every Wednesday -- needs your help! In order to integrate and stay in Sweden, he needs a job. He specializes in the IT sector, although he's willing to entertain other branches too; preferably in Gothenburg.
If you think you can help in any way, please contact Boz at boz[at]slayradio.org. An online C.V. is also available from http://www.AlistairBowness.info .
Thank you for your time!
C64audio.com re-launch!
If you haven't noticed already, c64audio.com re-launched with a brand new site, loads of new features, free downloads and a couple new releases.
The site now also contains loads of bonus material to some of the CDs, which can be downloaded without any extra charge after purchase. Soon to be added are bonus material for Makke's It's Binary, Baby - containing instrumental versions, demos and tracks that didn't make the final cut for the actual album.
Don't miss out! Head over to c64audio.com now!
Tunes to download
Q1 2007 has come and went so it is time for an update of the remixes released on RKO the last three months. Go get the torrent here and remember to keep seeding after download.
On a side note it is April fools day today so let's have some fun teasing people.
*edit* 2007-07-01 00:51
Q2 2007 is now also available.
IPv6 support is here!
IcePic has gone and done it again!
First, he provides you lot with the relay on port 80, and now he is giving you our first IPv6 relay, so head off and be the nerd you always wanted and play around a bit. :)
To use it, tune in at http://relayipv6.slayradio.org:8000/
Lovely new music!
Thanks to the graciousness of Wonderland Records and Thermostatic, we now have permission to play Thermostatic's music on air!
For those of you who've missed the Gothenburg-based band, their music is a mixture of grooving SIDStation sounds and lovely female vocals.
Premiered on SLAY Radio on tonight's Saturday Night Warmup to rave reviews, their tracks will be showing up in the list of requestable tracks soon.
Enjoy!
[Edit 2007-03-11]: Five tracks have now been added as a teaser to whet your appetites. ;)
[Edit 2007-05-09]: The above tracks have been switched out for the rest of the album tracks!
Richard Joseph passed away.
The past Sunday, we received news that Richard Joseph had passed away after struggling against lung cancer for some time.
I had the opportunity to meet the man twice, and he was a genuinly good guy to talk to.
You will be sorely missed, Richard.
For a discussion, see the Remix 64 thread about this.
[Edit]: I just added a few of Richard Joseph's SID tunes to the rotational. Thank you Kenz for providing me with them and to Andreas Wallström for suggesting it!
The Fleming Show is back!
Every second Thursday starting February 15th at 20:00 CET, The Fleming Show is back on SLAY Radio. The show will be hosted by Andreas Wallström (a.k.a. Morpheus of Flash Incorporated) as usual. Apart from the usual mayhem that kind of is The Fleming Show signature, Andreas is going to make his listeners more active in the show by getting them live on air for a chat and request. People from the scene will pop by, celebrity interviews will be made, clothes will be ironed, exclusives will be played, arse-pineapples will fly about, but most importantly: the music will be strictly C64 SID's, C64 remixes, and C64 related music. Don't miss this one out!
Some improvements
Hi,
As you may have noticed, there has been some glitches in the Matrix... err... stream lately.
Most of these has been due to some new stuff being implemented. Here's a little list of what has happened:
On the server end the following has happened:
* Upgraded version of SAM Broadcaster on the server
* New version of the compressor/limiter/EQ software, courtesy of Liket Leif
* We're not using the built-in encoders in SAM anymore, but something called LeifCast instead. Also courtesy of above mentioned Leif (DUH!)
* DJs are now able to get on air all by themselves using the automation scripts I've written (sounds simple enough, but there was more to it than you might think)
* The 24kbps and 56kbps streams are now using aacPlus for encoding. The 56kbps stream now sounds almost identical to the 128kbps stream.
On the cosmetic side of things:
* These pages are now slowly moving toward the use of Ajax (dynamic updates of parts of pages and other fancy stuff). Most noticable on the new NOW PLAYING thingy doodah that updates without the rest of the page updating too, which means you can actually use the IRC page without getting logged off all the time.
* [Edit] New favicon.ico, courtesy of luegisdorf! Thanks a bunch!
Erm. Was there something else? If there was, I've forgotten it. ;)
There are new features in the works that I bet you guys will like.
Hope you like the new bits (teehee, see what I did there?)
Cheers!
Downtime for relay3/relay80
Relay3 will be down for a while (possibly even the rest of the day) for an upgrade. Or rather, the lot is moving to a new, faster machine.
This affects the relay80 server aswell, since they run on the same machine.
Hopefully this will be quick and painless!
[EDIT] Message from IcePic 2007-01-25 10:31: It's up again, go wild on relay80.
Mastering Remixing
Most of you guys know Reyn Ouwehand (also known for some as Reyoowwaah). He has made a brilliant video clip of himself recording his latest remix, namely Garfield. It is currently in the RKO queue, and on the SLAY Radio rotational.
Those of you interested, can see exactly how easily this man whips a remix to life right here: Garfield Live
Thank you for that clip Reyn! I really enjoyed it!
Internet connection at SLAY HQ down!
Hi,
There seems to be a bit of a problem with the internet connection over at SLAY HQ at the moment.
Stream will return as soon as the connection is back up.
Meanwhile, why don't you do all those things you always wanted to do, like ... I don't know... Feed the plants, water the gold fish or perhaps do that long overdue vacuuming? =)
Cheers!
[2007-01-10 09:00] Edit: Temporary streaming now online. Voting and such is still offline though.
[2007-01-10 10:27] Edit: We should now be back to normal. Thanks for your patience!
New voting system
After having numerous requests to implement a new voting system, seeing the downside of the previous, simplistic system and discussing this with the staff, I have now implemented a new 4 scale system instead of the old "good vs. bad" system.
Hopefully the new system will give more fair votes to the songs. You now have these to choose from:
- BAD song
- BELOW AVERAGE song
- ABOVE AVERAGE song
- GOOD song
So... Get busy voting on your favourite songs!
Cheers!
Listen through port 80!
Great news for some of you that has been lacking this feature, but now it's finally here! You can now listen to SLAY Radio through port 80 by pointing your listener client to this address: http://relay80.slayradio.org/ ...
Thanks to IcePic for providing this!
Have fun! =)
The Fleming Show @ Gameplayer.se
Gameplayer.se got their own TV-show on the net, and the new episode features Andreas 'Morpheus' Wallström and John 'Ziphoid' Carehag doing the X2006 special of the popular The Fleming Show on SLAY Radio. Click here to take a look (in Swedish only).
Post-X2006 Fleming Show with lots of new SIDs and remixes
On Tuesday, October 17 at 20:00 CET, Andreas 'Morpheus' Wallström and his trusty sidekick John 'Ziphoid' Carehag will bring you a post-X2006 Fleming Show following the event in the Netherlands this last weekend.
The show will feature a party report and also lots of new SIDs from well-known composers such as Jeroen Tel, Drax, Hein and Chapelier and remixes of those SIDs by remixers such as Jeroen Breebaart, Makke, Hazel, Markus Schneider, Dafunk, Moog and Markus Holler.
The new SIDs have been especially made for the demo Let's Scroll it! released by C64.com, which also boasts with scrolltexts from over 70 people from the C64 world. Names such as Rob Hubbard, Ben Daglish, Jonathan Dunn, Richard Joseph and Markus Schneider appear amongst them, to name a few.
Power outage at SLAY HQ
The entire part of the city where SLAY HQ is located is currently experiencing a power outage, which means the stream is down.
When the power returns, so will SLAY Radio. :)
Edit: The power and thus stream is now back. Go on, nothing to see here.. ;)

There's no way we have the means to get this message through to everyone that would like to know, so if you have the time, please tell those friends of yours that you think might be interested in coming to this concert! :D
Stream downtime.
The past summer has been really hot, and so have my hard drives too! This means the drive in the firewall has taken a bit of a beating, and is now a tired little thing which needs replacing.
I will start this process shortly, so when the stream goes down, you all know why!
Keep your fingers crossed, because here we go!
Update: We're back up... And guess what? It was a fucking Maxtor drive!
I threw it on the floor, and then put it on the loudspeaker, just to make sure it died properly! Bleh.
Voting-system is down...
Due to a diskspace outage on the stream server, the voting system system has stopped working.
This is because of a stop in the replaction of MySQL-data when the disk ran out of space. To get this working again, the stream server needs to be restarted and the replication needs to be run, which will result in a dip in the stream sometime after the weekend when Slaygon can sink his teeth in the problem.
It also means that the 'On Air'-indicator on this site won't be shown during Skitz' SNW tomorrow and for you IRC-users it also means that the !np-trigger won't work until the replication has been done.
Oh, and Slaygon says that he's sorry for not bringing this info to the public a bit sooner... ;)
EDIT: Oh, yeah, the queue-list is also non-functional atm, but your requests WILL be played. You just won't be able to know when. ;)
EDIT again: Voting system and queue list is now up and running again! /Slaygon
SLAY Radio & Visa Röster on National Swedish radio
Kenneth Mutka (Slaygon) from SLAY Radio and Pex Tufvesson from Visa Röster are guests in the upcoming program "Kulturriket" on Swedish national radio P4 this Sunday the 6th of August 14:00. The program will feature approximately 15 minutes of Commodore 64 related game music talk (in Swedish), together with some Rob Hubbard music, probably Delta, International Karate and a few more.
So, tune in and listen, those of you that have the means to do so!
Edit: If you missed the program, I have prepared a mp3 download for you. Get it here
The page for the program itself is here
Relay 2 Down
The server we use for Relay 2 is being re-installed by the guys that own it at the moment, which is why some of you may be experiencing connection problems.
While this is being sorted out, you can attempt to directly connect to a relay, by pointing your Stream Player to:
http://relay1.slayradio.org:8000
or
http://relay5.slayradio.org:8000
This is for "broadband" quality; replace the 8000 with 8100 for ISDN quality or 8200 for modem quality.
Sorry for the inconvenience; more news as and when.
Official Statement regarding DJ Paralax
After his banishment from the remix community, Paralax has started several actions against it. This includes spamming the forum, harrassment of individuals, and worst of all, spreading untruth about people. This goes as far as publishing forged ICQ logs to defame community members.
We are not going to counter those attacks, rather we'll ignore them. We suggest every community member do the same.
Just the FAQs ma'am, and Gatherings
One thing we've noticed here at SLAY HQ is that our listeners sometimes ask us questions, and a lot of them are along the same theme. So, what better way to answer all the questions that you may ask than to put them all in a FAQ. And that's exactly what we did!
Read the FAQ here.
The news is out for the SLAY HQ Gathering, too! We had one last year and it was a great success, so we'll be doing it once again! It's in Gothenburg and the main day is Saturday 5th August, where we will spend the day up at Keillers Park for a barbecue and a good old chin-wag; then in the evening we'll go to the Kville Biljard where we have a private function room to ourselves!
More information on this page.
And don't forget Ziphoid's Gathering in Stockholm, on Saturday 8th July -- more information on this page!
SLAY Radio plays at DreamHack
DreamHack, the biggest LAN party in the world, will be held in Jönköping on the 17-20th of June this summer, and SLAY Radio will be playing remixes for all the participants of the event (some 5000-7000 people).
The schedule for SLAY Radio for this event has not yet been set, but will be discussed with both our regular listeners (see the discussion at remix64.com) and with the DJs and Staff.
Thank you!
Thank you all who voted for the "President of the week" thing. Marc Mörén has now gone to the finals along with two other people. On Thursday we will know if he wins or not! If he does, we'll get a better pool playing area for SLAY HQ folks, so thank you!
Those of you who have no clue what I'm going on about, see the Archived news entry about it. =)
Do something for the SLAY HQ area.
Marc Mörén is the name of a guy working to improve the local square where SLAY HQ is located. He does this as a part of a program called "President of the week" that runs on national swedish television. If he wins this, he will get a bit of a budget to do some more good for the community, and that is a good thing because that means Slaygon, Boz, Lisa and Linda can go play pool in the local pool hall without having to fear getting run over by a car. Or summit. =)
Now go vote! (please!)
Stream down
The stream is down currently. It will be back as soon as the network over at SLAY HQ is back online.
I have no ETA on when this is going to happen.
Yet another menu option
Yep, I thought we needed a section called "Archived news" where I can store ... erm... old news... So there you go... etc...
(yes, it's a slow day at work!)
New function: News comments
Ellu.
Just thought I'd say that I have added a system so you can post your comments on news items found here. Feel free to play around. If you find any bugs, notify me.
kthx. =)
Back in Time Live added!
Heya! With the permission of Chris Abbott, I added tracks from the Back in Time Live DVD to the rotational playlist! Enjoy!
Chris Abbott's Crystal Dreamscapes and Karma64
Chris Abbott's Crystal Dreamscapes and Karma64 are now in the rotational playlist! The latter being a collaboration thingy doodah with Boz. You may notice in the future that tracks made by a certain C.Abbott have a song title that says [with SomeNameHere] sometimes. That means the track is a collaboration between Mr. Abbott and the person called SomeNameHere. DUH! ;)
This was done so that even the mighty Chris gets to play by the same request limit rules as all the other remixers in the rotational playlist.
Thank you Chris for letting me put these on the rotational!
Aaanyway. Enjoy the new tracks!
New menu option
As per request, there's a new function available for you now. It's called "Latest additions" and is found under the menu Home->Latest additions.
It will list the most recent additions to the rotational playlist.
Enjoy!
Visa Röster - READY vocally too
Visa Röster's latest album READY vocally too was added to the rotational playlist today. Thank you for letting me put it there, Pex!
Relay problems
Just to let you know that the links on the top-left of the website may not work for you at the moment, because of a routing problem. If you want to listen to SLAY Radio via Winamp, then you can choose "File->Play URL..." and type in:
http://relayn.slayradio.org:8000
...replacing the n with either 1,2,4 or 5. Similarly, you can replace the 8000 at the end (which is 128 Kbps) with 8100 for 56Kbps (ISDN) and 8200 for 24Kbps (modem).

**** UPDATE ****
...and we're out!
We went all the way, the FULL 24 HOURS! We'd like to thank you guys for listening and standing our ranting and gibberish...
We also like to thank Max Levin who was with us the whole show, but left the IRC channel just a couple of minutes before the end, strangely enough... :)
Another shout-out must go to Ffrenzy, who won the competition.
Anyroad, we're beat now and are on our way to get some shut-eye, so you can expect more info about this event later on this week, including the downloadable version of it as well...
Cheers from us all!
/ Ziphoid, Andreas Wallström, Boz, DHS and Dimmignatt
Remix64's ROTY Awards
Some of you may have tuned in to the Remix Of The Year Awards 2005 Show that was aired on 15th January and hosted by Tas. As well as the award that the name suggests, there are others like Best C64 Remix, Best Innovative Remix, and so on.
If you'd like to remind yourself of the final places, or you missed the show and are curious as to how it went, you can look at the charts by clicking here!
Put yourself on the map!
Just to remind you folks that we have a Frappr map going on, where you can pin a location on where you listen to SLAY Radio from!
Just go to www.frappr.com/slayradio and add your details!
SLAY Radio shop!
You have requested it, we provide it!
Here is the ultimate way of showing your appreciation for this radio station: Dress SLAY Radio!
These are high quality items. I am wearing them myself. Here's an "action" shot (showing my back on the train on our way to the Retro Concert!):

Anyway, head over to the SLAY Radio shop now!
We only make a few kronor on anything sold, and any profits go toward paying for bandwidth and maintaining hardware to keep SLAY Radio going - so you can feel warm and fuzzy while showing the world that you love SLAY!
SLAY Radio LIVE, directly from the Retro Concert!
Yes!
It is now official - SLAY Radio will be broadcasting the full five hours of the Retro Concert held in Copenhagen/Denmark on the 5th of November!
Make sure to tune in already, because as the case is with the event itself, SLAY Radio only has so many "seats," so make sure to take that front row seat now!
It's Binary, Baby!
Don't forget that Makke's album "It's Binary, Baby!" is now shipping and is waiting for you order!
The album features 15 previously unreleased tracks of Commodore 64 remixes, original Makke-tunes and a couple of well known covers of Depeche Mode and Apoptygma Berzerk songs.
It even looks nice! So what are you waiting for? It'll be the best £9.99 you ever spent! Head over to c64audio.com where you'll find preview clips and ordering information! And while you're at it, get the Back In Time Live DVD as well.
Stream back up.
Stream is now up again.
The move from ADSL to VDSL was pretty painless, so everything should be up and running like normal again!
Enjoy!
Stream downtime. Again.
Due to a "misunderstanding" at my ISP, my internet connection will probably go down on Friday.
Since I am going to BIT Lite, this means that the worst case scenario is that the radio remains down between Friday and Monday efternoon.
Voting and requesting will be offline, that is for sure, but I will try to set up a temporary streamer once I get to .uk. I can't make any promises though.
Back In Time Lite/Retrovision 6 Mini
As most of you may have heard, there's a Back In Time Lite (the last ever organised by Chris Abbott) and Retrovision event happening on September 10th and 11th in Manchester.
It will include these events, among other things:
* Stuck in D'80s unplugged concert on Saturday with the full SID80s lineup!
* Makke (gooooooooooooooooooooood) CD Launch
* Back in Time Live DVD Launch
* "Hey Hey 16K" concert on Saturday as well from MJ Hibbett and the Validators!
* Huge big Outrun 2 dual TV setup
* Gaming from Commodore to Xbox all weekend
Be there, or be ... something!
Tickets, and more information can be found by clicking the banner below.
Downtime for SLAY Radio
Update: STREAM IS BACK TO NORMAL!
Update: Stream is down since 4am CET. ETA for return of stream: 6 or 7pm CET.
Just thought I'd inform you that there will be some downtime on the stream next week due to ISP change over at SLAY HQ.
The ISP says the downtime will be short, but since they can't give me a specific date when the switch will take place, I won't be able to do the necessary changes in my firewalls, scripts and SQL replication thingies (yes, that's the technical term for it) before it happens.
Hopefully the downtime will be short, but if not, I will start streaming from an external location. That would mean that voting and requesting will be offline, and during that time, there will be no live shows either.
So let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope for a short downtime.
While you wait, visit the The C64 Take-away podcast page!
SLAY Radio Gathering Special
Hey folks.
Guessing you know about the Gathering that was held at SLAY HQ back in July? If not, here's the goodies from it!
While listening to the shows...
Makke - The Gathering Special - featuring most people that attended the party interviewed by Makke and
Andreas Wallström - Gathering - The show that was broadcasted on Saturday night when we had gotten back from the pool hall, where we got the manager to play c64 remixes most of the night (reason he didn't play them all night was because we just brought along some 3 hours worth of music).
... watch the pictures people took:
Boz's gallery
Floaf's (X-FormZ) gallery
Lia's gallery
StormKeeper's gallery
Max Levin's gallery
John "Cookie" Cooke's gallery
And yes, you should have been here! It was a GOOD weekend!
Want to discuss it? Go here: Remix64

Mastering Guitar
Erm. Yes. We are back...
Since Mastering Swedish isn't happening yet for a little while, we have something else for you to try to master - That six string thingy more known as a guitar!
More here...
New relays
btd has convinced NVG (www.nvg.org) to sponsor SLAY Radio with bandwidth for a relay as a replacement for the one Makke has been running off of the student network over at RSN.BTH for quite some time now. It will be closed down in mid July, so I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you for letting me run SLAY Radio related stuff on your bandwidth!
A big thank you also to brother and Port80 for providing relays!
SLAY Radio and its listeners greatly appreciate your kindness!
Thank you!
We have great faces for radio!
Yes, we actually have such good faces for radio, they don't even stick on photos!
Want proof? Ok. How about this?

This was taken on the midsummer party held by fox, Cat, tru and anders, which was also their birthday party (happy birthday to you all! It was a great party! Thank you!)
I am pleased to let everyone know that Boz survived his first genuine Swedish midsummer party, so he can continue hosting shows!
Boz adds: "You'll be pleased to hear that, thanks to the successful persuasions of Cat (how YOU doin'?!), I also managed to try 'pickled herring', a typical Swedish traditional food. Suffice to say that I managed to keep it down, despite the vast quantities of öl (beer) and snaps (schnapps) that I consumed. But I think I'm pleased that it's only traditional to eat it three times a year (midsummer, easter and Christmas)! I also had a constant flood of Swedish people coming up to me and saying "Hey! You're that 'Mastering Swedish' guy aren't you?!" which was very amusing!
Thanks to the birthday boys and gals for inviting me along. Much enjoyment!"
We also had a celebrity guest at the party: DJ Tit-head.

Care to comment, Mr. DJ? =)
Edit: DJ Tithead wishes to show you all that we, the crew of SLAY Radio, are all more or less titheads, as can be seen below. Do observe our dear DJ Bollocks wielding a powerful broadcasting tool - that of a can of Guinness.
The C64 Take-away unleashed - C64 remixing meets Podcasting
Apparently having created Remix.Kwed.Org is not enough for Jan Lund Thomsen. For ages he has been competing with Fnordpojk for the title of "Laziest SLAY Radio staff member" but it seems Fnord might be in the lead again as Jan finally steps up to the plate and delivers a podcast dealing exclusively in C64 remixes and SIDs.
Find it at http://www.slayradio.org/podcast/
The "Take-away" in the show title refers to it being delivered "to go" - allowing users to listen whenever and whereever they want. The only difference is that we decide what's on the menu. =)
Q: No idea what podcasting is?
A: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasting
Q: How do I automate grabbing this so I never miss future shows?
A: Grab "iPodder" from http://ipodder.sourceforge.net (Windows/Mac/Unix)
That's all, folks!
Well, it's been a blast!
The last Z Show has been transmitted now. If you missed it live, you can always download it here (as a 128Kbps MP3).
As mentioned, The Z Show will have "specials" every now and then (and will be announced here), but it will be put on hiatus for now. The Sunday slot will remain free on SLAY radio for a while, just to get people used to the lack of The Z Show, and something else will, no doubt, take its place.
All the other shows that the "Zee" crew are involved in will continue as normal. DJ Skitz still runs his Saturday Night Warmup to get you in the mood to "go out on the tiles", and Boz has his own Wednesday night show called the Bowness Bit o' Bollocks, which will continue now that he has moved to Sweden. Kenz has confirmed that he doesn't fancy being a live DJ, but he has plans to bring out pre-recorded stuff in the future.
Bye Z Show! It was a blast!

HELP NEEDED!
Do you have access to a fast internet connection (100mbit or faster) and want to help SLAY Radio out?
The 'Mastering Swedish' series has gotten so much attention lately that we need to move the files away from the student network they used to live on.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Ziphoid and DCS, who now hosts the download.slayradio.org bit where Mastering Swedish, the SLAY Radio player, SLAY Radio demo and Ultimate Scene Collaboration lives!
Also, an equally huge thank you to Makke who hosted download.slayradio.org for quite some time!
THANK YOU GUYS!
We also need a new relay, since the secondary relay most probably will be closed down in July.
So if you have a fast internet connection and want to help the cause, email me at slaygon (at) slayradio.org!
Please help us out!
Thank you!
[minor edit]: There appears to be some sort of email circulating that looks like spam that is referring to Mastering Swedish. I just want to make it clear right here and now - We are NOT responsible for this email!
Ultimate Scene Collaboration available again
For the new people around here, I thought I'd post this again.
After the last Back In Time Live, we, meaning Visa Röster, SID80s, Trauma, c64mafia and SLAY Radio, thought we'd do a final collaboration thingy before parting at the airport.
Download Ultimate Scene Collaboration (11.9MB) now!
Those of you who have no idea why we'd do something like this might want to see the original Badgers thingy as devised by weebl.
SLAY Radio gathering
Been thinking of putting together some sort of SLAY Radio gathering this summer, most probably the first weekend of July, hence this little poll.
In the words of Boz:
"I think it would be a GREAT way to put faces to names, shake the hands of people you've chatted to on IRC, etc.
The fact that it's in a Mainland Europe country should make it easier for a lot of people to turn up. The added bonus is that Gothenburg is a BEAUTIFUL city to visit. Lots of historical buildings, very good transport, and... may I add... lots of eye-candy too"
Please answer the poll over at Remix64.
Upcoming section - User contributions
To give a little head start on the new section called User contributions which will appear here soonish, how about a treat from Octave Sounds, who's done a SLAY Radio demo?
Or maybe Stu C/Ovine's stand-alone SLAY Radio player is what you are looking for? Anyway, these things, and other stuff YOU contribute, will be available from the User contributions area!
Download the SLAY Radio demo and have a look!
Download the SLAY Radio Player (you need the VB6 runtime files too, if you don't already have them!)
New show: Rewind

On Tuesday, April 26 - 2005 - 20:00 CET, it is time for Thalamus to take over the airwaves (well, the bitstream at least) to do the first ever Rewind!
The show will only play SID tunes!
Tune in for the start of the busiest week in a long time (if not ever!) right here on SLAY Radio!
New show: SLAY Rated
We'd like to inform you of a new regular show, that will be broadcast the first Tuesday of every month. It's called "SLAY Rated" and runs down through the top 20 songs that have been rated by you, the listeners.
The first show will be hosted by DJ Skitz (of the Saturday Night Warmup) on April 12th 2005, from 20:00 CET (GMT+1). We know it's not the first Tuesday of the month, but we want to get started as soon as possible! As it's using the Top 20 Rated list, it's not a usual request show; however, the host will, as usual, be on IRC on the EFNet network, channel #SLAYRadio.
As mentioned, the list depends wholly on the listeners, and goes by the number of GOOD votes that each song has acquired. And that's where you come in! Whenever SLAY Radio is playing songs from the rotational playlist, you'll see the current song playing, along with a GOOD and BAD vote button on the left hand side here. Just press the button that reflects what you think of the song, and the votes will be tallied up ready for the next SLAY Rated show.
So, make a date to listen to SLAY Rated, and keep your votes coming in order to shape future shows!
- The SLAY Radio Team.
Oh. Yes. It was April 1st
As you might have noticed, it was april 1st a while back. I was going to do something else here instead of the colour scheme thingy, but ran out of time. =)
I noticed today how diplomatically people can say "you SUCK!", which was quite interesting. =)
New colour theme.
Hopefully you like the new colour theme. The previous was so... normal. We like things a bit odd around here.
Head over to Remix64 to vote for either this or the old colour theme!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Z SHOW!
Yes, the Z Show has been on for a year now! Those who missed the Anniversary Show, can download it here.
Here's the big snuggle-up picture of the gits, er, I mean, most of us right at the end of the show!

Welcome to the new SLAY Radio website!
Yes, it's here! As mentioned on the mailing lists, the new-look website has arrived. Not only has the site been given a face-lift, but extra functionality has been added. We wanted to make this site as user-interactive as possible -- after all, it's YOU who listens to the station!
Some of the menu functions will need you to be logged in as a member, so click on "login" at the top-right of any page and type in your info.
If you're not a member yet, no problem -- just click on login and choose "sign up" from there!
Have a look around, and tell us what you think of the new site!

"The Future of The Z Show" poll now active
There's now a poll on the Remix64 board which is letting listeners shape the way forward for The Z Show. The show has been running for a year now, so it's time to give it a bit of a spring-cleaning.
Your vote counts, so go to http://www.remix64.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=2329 now!
SLAY Radio pages back!
After the total crash of the machine hosting the SLAY Radio pages, it now seems everything is restored back its former glory!
Enjoy!
Z Show gold album!
Lock up your Daughters! Those crazy funsters Boz, Kenz, DJ Skitz along with the rest of the Z-Show team have unleashed a double-album jam packed with some of the finest C64 remixes ever produced. The double-CD set has been pro duced in the style of one of their popular Sunday night Z-Show broadcasts - so each track is introduced by the DJs! As well as over two hours of top-quality Commodore 64 remixes by some of the very BEST arrangers in the scene the CDs also feature some GOLD moments from the Z-Show. CD highlights include cool radio jingles from Marcel Donné, wacky soundbites, Stuck in D'Eighties performing Way of the Exploding Fist at BitLive Brighton, a DEYO'd to DEATH remix of Deflektor, a rare 'vocal derangement' of the Zoids imperial march theme, the side-splittingly funny 'Formula 1 Fartulator' incident and much more.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The SLAY Radio Staff wishes you all a Merry Christmas!
The new and improved SLAY Radio home page!
Have you noticed that the SLAY Radio website looks almost the same... and yet, slightly different? That's because The Mighty Boz ("form an orderly queue, ladies") stole Slaygon's web design and put it in a blender for several days. This is the result: a slightly faster-responding site that doesn't use Frames any more. Note the nice subtle new logo in the top-right, too; which was designed by Andreas "Morpheus" Wallström of c64hq.com. Enjoy!
Christmas arrives early!
Christmas arrives early this year, as jolly Saint Skitz and his red-nosed reindeer deploy a SAM3 license down the SLAY Radio chimney. Of course we couldn't wait, and had to rip the packaging off and put it to use straight away.
Hohoho!
BUY BOZ T-SHIRT!
As heard LIVE on SLAY Radio, Boz's authentic SLAY Radio t-shirt (as seen on the picture below) is up for sale!
Genuine Z Show beer and pizza stains for FREE!
Email your bids to slaygon at slayradio.org NOW!
Want to meet us at BIT Live? (too late!!!)
BIT Live was a BLAST! Unfortunate for you who couldn't attend it, but fun for the rest of us!
Anyway, if you wish to see the ultimate scene collaboration, including Visa Röster, Morpheus, Trauma, c64mafia and parts of the SLAY Radio staff, pick up the video we made at the airport just before leaving! (will be available again shortly)
Some viewer reviews: (collected from various boards the video has appeared on)
- "Best video... EVER!" - c64glen
- "Anything Fat Boy slim can do! Slay and the gang can do better! HAHA! brilliant! funny as a funny thing!" - tassy
- "I want to hurt these people so badly." - ulalume
- "ROFL, bloody brilliant!" - dbfm

Yes, we now have SLAY Radio t-shirts!
