| STIL comment | Before starting on this game Galway bought Rendez-Vous (by Jean Michel Jarre). He listened to it daily. His CD player broke 2 weeks later and didn't get repaired for 2 months, during which time Martin worked on Parallax, without realizing that Rendez-Vous was unconsciously creeping into the music. He realized it only after he played the album again after the game was already shipped. "[Parallax] was 11 minutes long, certainly my longest at the time. I took my development gear home to work on it for a week or two. I just said to myself 'OK, it's going to be this mega-tune, so the intro has to be mega'. The intro took up two-thirds of the tune! I actually got bored with it, and stuck that silly melody on the end which doesn't really match. Going back I would have made it less melodic. I wanted to reflect the gigantic visual proportions represented by the parallax effect in the game so that's why it has an 'epic' feel."(MG) |

| #1 - Rendez-Vous [from Rendez-Vous] | |
| Artist: | Jean-Michel Jarre |
LMan:
Solid 90s style trance tune.
NecroPolo:
Feels like a rough outline of the original without its feel. The slow attack lead sometimes 'eats' the fast note runs.
Tas:
Pretty useful mix
prowler:
Doesn't really make it all the way…
Skitz:
It's a nice little darnce remix - still that wrong note gets me everytime☹️
Dan:
Has its moments but that voice over gets really annoying
timiditas:
The mix is average to good, but way too repetitive! Especially the bass aarp had needed much more work. However, I never thought that Microsoft Mary, one day, would prove somewhat usable. Fits quite good, not too penetrant.
eliot:
Nice, but lacks the spirit of the original…
infamous:
Theres nothing here that no one else has already done… And unfortunately what has been done here isnt as good as what it could have been… Shame because I love parallax.
anaconda:
Good production, but the tune doesn't fit at all.
bratac:
Again the notorious wrong notes kill this one.
omoroca:
2 Parallax dance mixes in the same month? This one doesn't even stick to the original melody accurately. Totally odd! Ouch!!!
