| STIL comment | Before starting on this game Galway bought Rendez-Vous (by Jean Michel Jarre). He listened to it daily. His CD player broke 2 weeks later and didn't get repaired for 2 months, during which time Martin worked on Parallax, without realizing that Rendez-Vous was unconsciously creeping into the music. He realized it only after he played the album again after the game was already shipped. "[Parallax] was 11 minutes long, certainly my longest at the time. I took my development gear home to work on it for a week or two. I just said to myself 'OK, it's going to be this mega-tune, so the intro has to be mega'. The intro took up two-thirds of the tune! I actually got bored with it, and stuck that silly melody on the end which doesn't really match. Going back I would have made it less melodic. I wanted to reflect the gigantic visual proportions represented by the parallax effect in the game so that's why it has an 'epic' feel."(MG) |

Zilog:
This is remarkably good!
bratac:
Almost ok, some familiar wrong notes, but gets most important one of those right, therefore yellow (instead of gray).
GlenBenton:
Nothing too special… Ok!
anaconda:
Might be the least annoying Parallax remake.
XxDUSTYxX:
Sounds ok.
LaLa:
Not bad, a run-of-the-mill standard remix. The lead sound is flat, it needs more variation. In fact, that's true for the entire remix.
prowler:
I could never vote anything less than good for a parallax mix, but it could have been done better
infamous:
Very competent, but nothing too special… Its good though, I enjoyed it.
omoroca:
Starts out very promising but then copies some wrong notes in the melody that I've already heard in other remixes. Aside from that, catches the spirit quite well!
condor:
Idea is there, just needs better mixing.
eliot:
While the background works quite well, the lead is quite dull and ruins the whole remix…
Waz:
I'd have voted this higher but the wrong notes in the melody just completely ruin it for me. It sticks out like a sore thumb.
Danceaway:
Just to standard for me… Sorry but it needs a lot more soundscape, better lead sound and speeding up a bit…
