| STIL comment | Very interesting story here. Katakis was released in September 1988 by Rainbow Arts, however it never got a release in the UK as Activision had it cancelled because of similarities to R-Type, to which Activision had bought the conversion rights. Activision were getting nowhere with their conversion of R-Type and they liked what they saw of Katakis, so they hired the same programming team (Manfred Trenz and others) to do the C64 conversion. They only got 6 weeks to write the conversion, and sadly, it shows. Katakis was eventually altered and released as Denaris in 1989. Tunes #2 to #14 all cover of the arcade game. |

ZXDunny:
Love all of CZTunes' work, and although I agree with the comments about SID with added drums, this is just lovely to listen to - it's done well, much better than most.
Windshield_CB:
I'm typically the first to complain about the lazy take original. SID, overlay new drums and keys, and release approach to remixes, but this one works, and sounds a lot better than most of the other cheesy R-Type remixes.
Gothmog:
Simple but works pretty well! Orange!

I think this is very nice remake of one of the most hooking tunes. The performance is eaven better when considering it's quite old age.
